Our company has been trying for more than 25 years to revive and carry on the tradition of shingle splitting, which is widespread in South Tyrol. A wood shingle is a part of Nature and as such is used not only in traditional Alpine architecture, but also in modern architecture as a construction material, since it provides coverage for complex types of roofs and offers outstanding thermal insulation.

The present owner of the company, Christian Gasser founded the company when he was 18 years of age. At first, he and two employees specialised in the manufacture of split larch wood shingles. At that time, they worked in the open air, since they did not have their own premises. In 2000 the present company premises were built and in 2011 they were further extended. Over the years, the range of products has expanded considerably. Thanks also to its innovative, flexible, dynamic team Gasser Schindeln offers its customers a variety of products and professional installation. The company is now in a position to undertake projects throughout Europe and world-wide.
